My children's book; this is the main character. It was an extraordinary experience to bring him, and some of the others to life through oils. I worked incredibly fast and the face simply emerged, looking at me with pleading eyes. Let me live ! He asks,
that's all...
I try my best. But I need a better routine. The book is almost complete - yet there are miles to go yet. It is very rough and ready. So exciting though. He has faced , is still undergoing all manner of nail biting dilemmas. Of course he comes through; at the time none of us know how.
The writing process is beyond conscious thought. If I stand back , I will often find myself saying, this is too far-fetched, come on, but, if, when I dare to enter into the adventure, it creates the unexpected and that is when the story sings along.
What a place to be !
The unexpected.
Truly the characters tell their stories through the fingers; I place my head to one side to listen and my fingers are flying. I have never been taught to type but these fingers know where each key is, without conscious thought. How do they do that ? How does one write a book ? How does one live their dream ?
How do you fall in love deeper and deeper without end ?
If I thought about it, I could not tell you.
But I know someone who can !!

Wow - I get this - I have written and am writing for children. I have no idea what will come out - my characters just take off and do things I never ever expect . . . . all I have to do is race behind them writing it all down!
Gosh yes I have no control over un peu et al. you jsut can'tmake them do waht yo want in writing can you (oh god hope that doesn't jinx the whole process!)
What shiny eyes your character has ! Just like you.
Ten thousand pebbles will still be smiling when you finish the book, when you feel its cool cover in your hand and see your name on the spine, stamped on its bones.
I know what you mean about the power of the characters and how they take over, beginner though I am. Good luck, good luck.
Wow, I got a total jolt when I saw that face on your page - my mind had wandered while it was loading (very slow connections here) and I looked back and gosh it was suddenly there, and for a moment I had no idea where I had ended up! That is a powerful image. He is certainly alive and the book, for sure, is going to be amazing.
I don't know how you manage to get so much done in a day.
very admiring of all your creativity, simply spewing out of you!
