Log Blog

These pebbles , hundreds of millions of years old will still be smiling in the sun ten thousand years from now ;

us ?

I think of all that has got in the way of my enjoying these stones ; religion,

education,

family :

they have all f' .ed me up; in God's name.

Old story .

Christ, there is much more to taking God's name in vain than simply swearing.

So it has taken me a long, long time to stand here. To realise that the love I have for this place and the woman by my side, my never ending love affair with the sea and the sky,

my music, my art,

my defiance,

mad Smithy,

(all thanks to lixtroll for the life-changing insight !)

that this where God is;

the Heart of Love,

that this is what prayer is .

In ten thousand years

these pebbles

will still be smiling.

So very profound, Yes, I've often thought about our time span here being so short, yet things like the stones go on for thousands of years, they do change shape and get smaller though, particularly if on the beach.

Beautiful. How lucky you are in Norfolk to have all that sea and sky. Those pebbles must think us very fleeting and impermanent.

I know. I am so pleased you can stand there and see the stones now.

Funnily enough, I have been trying to write a blog about a pebble for 2 days now, but Mad Smithy has been here too!
Blast Mad Smithy, I'm going to have another try now!

Hello it's me again! I just popped over to say thank you so much to you and Hopping Moon for your lovely comments and encouragement - but also, it is sooo funny how Mad Smithy came about because of a missing comma!! Now that really is a Mad Smithy thing, isn't it. It just totally captured my imagination, springing to life in an instant, Mad Smithy will always be a part of my life now!

By the way I forgot to say before that I have your book on order from Amazon - 2 or 3 weeks I think. Looking forward to it.
